Signing day
Signing-day checklist card
A printable hard checklist for HK signing day: entry slip, IFS-MP, policy delivery date, licence number, premium proof, cooling-off start. Educational—not a substitute for official documents.
Leave with one page. Tick every box before you pay; if a box is empty, ask—don’t accept “we’ll fill it later.” Pre-trip and aftercare: /aftercare; licence check: /intermediary-check.
Why: Often used to show you were in Hong Kong when arranging cover; keep the original or a clear image.
Ask: Which entry proof do you need me to show or retain for today’s process?
Why: Disclosure and suitability should leave a paper trail—not only a verbal “it’s fine.”
Ask: Please point to the IFS-MP / important-facts pages I sign today and give me copies.
Why: Delivery date often drives cooling-off start and document disputes—ask when delivery to you counts.
Ask: When will the policy be delivered, in what form, and please write the date down?
Why: The person you deal with should be verifiable—copy the number onto this card or your notes.
Ask: Please show licence proof and write the number; I will re-check via IA public channels.
Why: Premiums should follow licensed institutional paths—refuse private collectors. Keep receipts / transfer records.
Ask: What is the exact payee name? Please give official payment instructions and a receipt.
Why: Start rules are written rules—ask how to cancel in writing and re-check with the cooling-off helper.
Ask: Which day does cooling-off start, where is written cancellation sent, and please mark it on the papers?
Cooling-off helper
After you know the delivery date, rough-check the cooling-off window. Rules follow your policy documents.
Simple +21 calendar-day helper
Life / VHIS commonly ~21 days from the earlier of delivery or notice; ILAS / single-premium may be mark-to-market. This helper shows +21 calendar days from the earlier date—not a promise; policy and cooling-off notice control.
Whichever earlier rule: start = earlier of delivery vs notice (when both filled). One date alone still works.
